Speech - against child soldiers

Is using children in war right? No not at all, that is in fact what the majority of you would answer. Exactly…you, you and you as well. But this is happening anyway, why, think of it, what are their rights? Are they really being respected? No, not at all, this is the case of many countries and of many families.   

Mothers seeing their own children being taken away, eyes full of tears and eyes full of impotence, they can’t do anything about this, they cannot oppose themselves to the orders. Some mothers don’t even have tears in the eyes, their kids get taken off from by kidnapping!

This is an injustice, which I have known a victim of! I have known about the tears in his mother’s eyes, I have known about the lifestyle the kids were given and I have known about the unbelievable deaths, and number of deaths which these children have been put through in war, I know this all, and it is time for ALL OF YOU TO KNOW AS WELL!!!

Kids born to be soldiers, kids who cannot be named kids anymore, little monsters, little creatures adopted by artillery, by a bazooka! Kids that are not given an education, except the military one!

While your sons and daughters sit playing with great colored toys, that make sounds, more than 14 million boys and a few percentage of girls handle different toys. TOYS TO KILL, TOYS OF VIOLENCE! And we all are responsible for this!

Well, of course it is far more easier for us to get soldiers from innocent children rather than adults, since they do not oppose, yes, but is this right to take away an infant and his childhood to give him a gun in his hand? NOT AT ALL! Little kids, robot-like and programmed to fight!

Obviously, not many are concerned about this problems, I bet not many of you imagine yourselves in Iraq perhaps or in any other war, you probably have never really faced war, all the damage it causes, what it really is like to be in it.

Death is all around you, but probably this is not a problem for the kids either, they are used to it, these are the first images of their child hood. Not the beautifully colored walls of a kindergarten and a happy teacher with a wide smile on her face. The images, actually are totally different: Death colored scenery, blood poodles all over, vomit and many times corpses or only pieces, an arm, a head, a leg, but these children are used to it.

They cannot even dream of seeing a smile, they absolutely do not know what the word happiness means, what the word peace means, and do not even know the existence of the word ‘love’.

 They are taught to fight not love, what is the world going to be like if our future is in the young’s hands? Have you ever thought about this? So we absolutely have to change this situation.

So is a boy that learns to love, a boy with a family, a boy with friends, a boy that learns to love, isn’t it much better than millions and millions and millions of boys with a face, a look, eyes with no expression in them if not hate…[pause]

If you want a new love  generation, help to ‘fight’  for children rights, for a world of love without violence.

Fight for the children in Uganda, for the children in Congo, for the children in Sierra Leone, for the children in the Middle East, fight for their freedom and for their childhood!

LET’S FIGHT TOGETHER AGAINST WAR, AGAINST THE ABUSE OF CHILDREN’S RIGHT, LET’S FIGHT AGAINST THE USE OF INNOCENT CHILDREN AS SMALL SOLDIERS, LET’S FIGHT FOR IT TOGETHER FOR ALL THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD!
